Do you think A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher would count for small town setting for r/fantasy?

So I have not read it yet, but I’m about to start Tender Is The Flesh, and I have a question. Is there a major theme or message other than the obvious one about considering vegetarianism? I don’t want to take anything away from that, but I myself eat meat and I know it’s probably going to feel a bit preachy. I guess im just wondering if there’s anything else I can take away from the book. #horror #tenderistheflesh #dystopian

This book passed me off so much, I haven't felt anger this visceral since working at a casino. The main character's brother is such a self centered jerk that I got an ulcer listening to his antics. Her mother's an idiot. Also, the book devolved into crazy nonsense.

I'm so disappointed that I won't be finishing Stephen King's It. I made it maybe 30 percent of the way in and had a panic attack because this boys dead brother tried to drag him into the canal. How am I supposed to celebrate Halloween if I'm this scary? Sigh

Hi can I ask what horror books do all recommend?

**SPOILERS AHEAD***. There was so much. Rowan / Rachel never sent the letter. These poor kids all in turmoil because their dad was a major perv. Rowan / Rachel took whatever the punishment was, I don’t know what it was the author didn’t say, but that letter from Ellie was why she never sent the letter to begin with. To protect her little sister.

I got this book because I thought it would be a good fun horror book to read for fall. My dad told me he read his other book the troop and it scared the heck out of him. He said it was scarier than Stephen king. Would you say it’s really scary? How scary is it? I’ve never read a horror book but I’ve watcha many movies and shows and love them.

✨SPOILERS✨ I have a question, that I haven’t been able to find online. Loved all the connections throughout this book! The only one I don’t get is the green boys in the attic. What was that referring to??

Some families get generational wealth passed down… others get generational trauma passed down. This is the saddest book that I have ever read.

So I just finished Hidden Pictures. Am I the only one that thinks the ending is the best kind of stupid? I love this book but that twist is absolutely ridiculous in all the right ways. I found myself laughing hysterically and unable to put the book down.

My book club pals told me this would make me furious. It certainly did.

I started Listening to Cujo by Stephen King and then part way through I found out it has spice.(I should have looked into that before) So now I'm left with the choice of either DNF-ing it and instead reading its summaryOR I could try skipping the spicy parts. I don't really want to DNF it because there were some decently scary parts (which is the whole reason I was listening to it) but I dont want to listen to/read any spice. Is the spice easily skippable? If so what parts R spicy? Thanks

This book was a gift, this is not something I would have bought for myself. I am painfully skeptical when it comes to the paranormal. I did really enjoy reading this for a few reasons. My house was built in 1865, so it was really fun seeing what was going on in the world while my house was being built. I enjoyed the stories of people’s ghostly experiences alongside stories about notable people during the Civil War. I had a great time reading it and I learned some things too!

This book was so informative! Without there being a “story” there’s not much to recap but I will say I’m amazed at what can be discerned about a person based only on their skeleton.

I wanted an existential read and got it! this was actually a nightmare lol. It’s not actually scary but a horrifying situation omg #horror #books
