"3.5 stars We had fun watching this one together and it was a good movie with a good central message. However, it just didn't live up to some of the other animated movies that I have seen this year. Honestly, I probably would have rated it a little higher if the last animated movie that I saw wasn't inside out 2. Still this was worth the watch. I always like the graphic style of the Kung Fu Panda movies."
"I mean, it's here.
First off, the pace of the entire movie is insanely fast. It's like they had an idea & refused to remove any of them, so they just smashed every scene they could together. You don't have time to breathe or truly take in anything. It had the potential to be a tad slower, & when it does, it shines. But it kept getting distracted by worthless side stories & meaningless characters who easily could've had way less screen time. But considering they only got 5 cast to return that makes sense. Don't let me confuse you, that last sentence was a bash on the movie. Po, Shifu, Li, Ping, & one villain. Plus, the characters you actually care about aren't the ones highlighted. Its Li and Ping. They continued with the one time gag from Kung Fu Panda 3 & increased it tenfold like we wouldn't notice & hate it. Don't get me wrong, it has a few gems here & there for those 2, but you would've preferred any of the other 3.
Now, let's move past the story & characters. Let's go for the overall feel. You're gonna be annoyed. A lot. Whether it's the lack of characters you love, the cringe, the cliches, or the over repeated voice in head trope. Not to mention its way too predictable. You know exactly whats gonna happen but the writers think they have you fooled. It's just disappointing.
But what's good? The new villain is intimidating & a true threat. Her voice & presence is exceptional! Yet you have no idea how they actually manage to beat her despite seeing it play out. The action is well done if not a tad overplayed at times. It is Kung Fu Panda, but you don't see the subtlety in the action that every other Panda movie had. Instead, it's just complex messiness.
As for the concept, it is there & played out. But it's so full of cliches you feel like you've seen this movie before even as you watch it the first time (I also didn't watch a single trailer for this movie, so that says a lot.)
So while I approve of Pos progression, it just fell rather flat."
"Honestly glad I didn’t see this in theaters. Personally would not have been worth the money. Humorous in small bits, but a little predictable. If you’re up for a really long, somewhat cheesy, and decently anticipatable movie to fall asleep to on a weekend night, look no further. Personally, not rooting for a 5th for the series "
"As always, the animation is amazing. The story itself though I thought would be a lot more exciting since they were bringing previous villains back. For me, I feel like this was just an okay movie. I also wish they brought back some of the original cast for this, you could definitely sense that their presence and humour was missing. "
"Fine for kids.
The film is just like the chiniese orchestra version of Crazy Train in this movie, there was no need for it.
To be fair, I did not see the film in it's original language and the french dubbing in Canada is horrible
The animation is always great.
Everything in the story felt forced.
No jokes were funny to me.
I did not feel anything.
No characters, except Po, are attaching.
The end song cover of Britney Spears was... also unecessary."
"This is one of those series that should have stopped at a perfect first movie. This one was better than 2 or 3, and made me laugh twice at the end. But it was nothing we haven't all seen tons of times before and ultimately it was an unnecessary addition."

"Po Returns: Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
Kung Fu Panda 4 is a light-hearted adventure that brings back the lovable Po for another round of animated action sequences and comedy. This film is a direct sequel to the trilogy that ended in 2016, and while it offers plenty of entertainment, it struggles to justify its existence.
The film lacks the delicate artistry and warm wit of its predecessors. The subtle sense of spirituality that was present in the previous movies is replaced by frantic action sequences. The pacing is often rushed, squandering the potential for tension or humor.
Despite these shortcomings, Kung Fu Panda 4 is wall-to-wall with animated action sequences and plenty of light moments of expected comedy. The movie doesn’t really let up and the zany jokes fly quickly while the chase and fight scenes are nothing less than entertaining to watch.
The main problem in the script is that the event that sets the plot in motion feels contrived. Shifu tells Po that he must take over as spiritual leader of the valley and hand off the Dragon Warrior duties to a protege. This hastily called audition montage barely registers.
Kung Fu Panda 4 is a fun, family-friendly film that offers plenty of laughs and action, even if it doesn't quite live up to the high standards set by its predecessors.
