Pokémon: The First Movie

"This movie is crazy in hindsight because it predicted the boom in anime dubbing and international releases on the big screen. Through Ash, has the sole reason I played the Pokémon games: the emotional bond you form with your Pokémon. Strangely dark and the last part might have you shedding tears. "

"If you were a Pokékid like me, this was when Pokémon peaked. While I can’t say it’s aged poorly, the cracks are certainly more noticeable, though it’s saved by things like the uniquely dark art direction, the sheer massive scale, and Mewtwo. Mewtwo is THE best part of the movie, hands down; especially in the tragic origin short. He’s pure, uncut badass straight to the bone...but he really deserved to be in a better movie. The ending is where this kinda falls flat, but everything else is a 7/10 "
