"I really loved this movie and I think it really comes down to the video editing. The movie is very calm, theres almost not even really a plot - if someone were to ask me what the movie were about I'd probably just say "Chihiro" and move on. But it's so relaxing and emotional; the positioning of scenes and sequence of events, the sounds you hear and the emphasis placed on them. I genuinely expect to rewatch this within a month and love it even more. This makes me want to be from the same planet as Chihiro "
"I was fully expecting a kind of redemption story wrapped in a slice of life moment. It ended up being much more about loneliness, having no roots, having no real place that binds you in a way that home does, touching the lives of others that you meet in a fleeting moment ... and just kind of gently passing through like the feelings of a season."
"A beautiful, heartwarming, yet melancholy film on the feeling of loneliness. If you’re looking for in your face drama with lots of plot twists, this isn’t going to be for you. But if you’re up for a film that takes it’s time and feels closer to real human interactions and the nuanced complexities of relationships then this is well worth a watch. "
