"I saw this movie before it was released and nothing changed we still don’t see the monster at all until the end and it’s pointless at that point. I watched this for the main actress and she did the best she could in that role also the other characters did great. "

"“It’s like everything I wanted outside of me is inside of me and I can’t get it out.”
This was a touching, thoughtful film which draws on Indian culture, prayer, and mythology. It focuses on friendship and how two friends can lose then re-find each other again through surviving a trauma insurmountable. They are bonded forever and face life together eternally changed from the wreckage that they have been through. It is stirring and incredibly rich with emotion as an inner darkness permeates the world and soul until it can no longer from being fought back against personally and then more collectively. "
"3.75★. the synopsis of this movie sounded so interesting, but the beginning didn't really capture my attention so i was about to give up on it. the latter half of the movie though, it became much more interesting and i ended up liking it. for that reason i didnt want to give it a full 4★, but close to it."
"I don’t get this movie. After seeing the trailers for this film I was excited for it, but once it hit theaters I heard nothing about it. Nothing good, nothing bad, just nothing and I in turn forgot about it. I only watched it as I found myself looking for something to watch one night, and looked up the horror movies that came out in 2023. Seeing It Lives Inside on that list, I remembered the trailers and how it had peaked my interest. I had very low expectations as not having heard anything about the film likely meant it was forgettable, but I hoped that maybe I’d found a hidden gem. Now, I’m confused why there was such radio silence on this film with how little I enjoyed it. To it’s credit the movie is directed competently and the acting is passable. But the score wasn’t notable and the plot/characters just didn’t hook me. I also feel like maybe the movie isn’t as bad as I perceive, and instead maybe I’m just not the movies intended audience. I’m an African American, not trying to bring race into a movie opinion, but that’s the culture I was raised in and a lot of the films I watched growing up were aimed at my demographic. So seeing a horror movie with an East Indian family being targeted by this entity had my interest peaked and I was genuinely curious as I don’t see East Indian culture or actors typically in any of the movies I watch. I can’t tell if the characters were just poorly written, or maybe it’s just a culture gap as I found most of the characters and the family dynamic unenjoyable. There were a couple characters throughout the run time I actually found myself somewhat rooting for, but for the most part I found the character development lacking. Then when you mix in the typical bad decisions made by horror movie characters, it led to a very underwhelming and unenjoyable experience. I’d advise skipping this one, as I don’t think it succeeds in being a successful horror movie, and it didn’t do anything to fuel my interest in East Indian culture. Failed. "
