"I always thought this was a family movie. Boy was I shocked. And surprised again it’s only PG-13. I watched this back to back with T&H, both released the same year with almost exact same plot. Wisecracking detective inherits troubled dog to solve a crime. Despite that, these two couldn’t be more tonally different. I had to check and make sure this wasn’t an early Bruckheimer movie. Almost fell down this internet rabbit hole about “cloned movies”, similar movies released very close to each other, and what it means about you depending on which you like better. There were some absolutely hilarious scenes with the dog in this but me personally like T&H a little better. "
