" A good idea for a Horror movie falls apart in the end. It manages to get weirder than a girl in a reality where she was never born.
The end also feels rushed. Spoiler: With the love interest conveniently remembering everything that happened in the alternate timeline. Which doesn’t even make sense. Just so the hero didn’t have to explaining why she now loves her.
The reliable in Horror movies, Justin Long is even really bad in this. With that said the movie is at least still cute and likable. "
"A clever twist on the Christmas classic, this was a non-stop, lively, spirited thrill ride which effectively created suspense. In this movie, you have to be careful what you wish for, as the main character, Winnie, discovers after wishing herself non-existent. She has to work to save her town while no one initially knows who she is in this new universe of complexities. I thought her journey was interesting and multi-faceted as she learns a lot about herself and the world in the process. This puts the excitable cheer in Christmas in a slightly deranged kind of way! "Very interesting setup as they show you the killer within the first 15 min as she saves the town. Then like the other movie she wishes she wasn't born and undoes it. A year later and these murders are now common place in town. Unfortunately they waste the set up and try the scream approach and it just didn't work. The jokes don't land, there is little to no suspense and they make a weird decision in the 3rd act about the mature of the town and killer. Had some potential but ultimately used the same old play book for these movies with a lackluster final product. "An extremely fun horror riff / remake of it’s A Wonderful Life. I enjoyed the premise quite a bit and Christmas themed horror movies and shows are one of my weaknesses. This one starts strong and I really enjoyed the scenes with “The Angel.” This movie’s serial stalker attacking the town. Much of this movie is well directed but the script sadly goes off the rails in the third act and just doesn’t quite make sense really at all. The other thing too is this movie has a bit of an overt social commentary and or political agenda that was obvious to everyone in the group I watched it with and I really hate it when movies go that route regardless of which side of the isle you stand on so for that it’s a solid three star affair. Fantastic atmosphere, balance of comedy and horror but it’s shoddy storytelling in the last act almost completely kill this one. I do recommend if all you’re looking for is a fun time. Also bonus points for having Justin Long. "
