After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael Myers has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she's been admitted for Myers' attempt on her life. The institution proves to be particularly suited to serial killers, however, as Myers cuts, stabs and slashes his way through hospital staff to reach his favorite victim.

"From one of the best ever to one of the worst ever so quickly. Set on the same night as the first movie, the only redeeming value here is maybe a higher kill count. The first movie has a clear reason why Michael Myers can move around so easily undetected, due to the cover of Halloween celebrations and the overall stealth with which Michael moves about. Halloween II starts with officers who know who they need to look out for, with a plot contrivance of someone who just happened to have a nearly identical mask and jumpsuit despite that clearly not being an existing Halloween costume in the original. On top of that, that same character has to just happen to get hit by a vehicle that then catches on fire and burns him beyond recognition so they need to get dental records in order to figure out if they killed Michael Myers. On top of that, Michael Myers ditches his kitchen knife for a scalpel. While there is a little suspension of disbelief with the kitchen knife (because most stab wounds are not instantly fatal) the scalpel barely has any length in it to penetrate deep enough to do harm. Maybe there's something to be said for being set mostly in a hospital (another supposed place of safety as compared to the safety of the home being violated in the first movie) but not really. There are two major definitve deaths at the end however, and that would have been a merciful end if not for the failure of Halloween III which led to both deaths being barely explained away to justify another sequel. In a perfect world, Halloween III was a major success. "
"Shocktober 2024:
I'll be honest. I may be being overly harsh on a movie with a lot actually going for it. It has some cool kills, some fun shots, a good soundtrack, Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence, all the elements of a good slasher are there. However, I simply didn't care about anything that was happening. I thought the Laurie sibling thing was a dumb decision. If I was more interested in what was happening, or if I liked Halloween less this would probably be a perfectly fine movie but as it stands, I'm feeling pretty negative on it."
"This movie was made too quick trying to piggyback off the major success of the first film. It's nothing like the original one, still Myers haunting Laurie but it doesn't have that feeling.. still a great slasher (I'm a huge slasher buff love all of them especially 80s) but compared to the original Halloween it doesn't come close imo but is still a great watch around Halloween season "
