"Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, does a splendid job as a Bombay writer and reporter who fights a Goliath-like battle against a corrupt religious leader. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, this somewhat somber and powerful film addresses how at times people can allow their devotion or belief system to harm others. This movie is truly eye-opening and sobering in its portrayal of a powerful and unaffected man who takes advantage of his own parishioners. The acting is excellent from the main cast members, and the supporting cast is good. The movie triumphs in the courtroom scenes which take the religious leader to task for his abuse of women. "The movie does a really great job distinguishing the difference between faith v.s. blindly following. How not only JJ(the guru) is bad but how the followers are complicit in what he does because they assume "it's the natural way of things" instead of questioning the real intentions behind JJ's special ceremony. How people's compliance actually harms others and them while benefiting the one who installed it. This is especially true considering India being a religious country that likes maintaining tradition. There are many great quotes in here and many of the lines the main character says are 100% based. The music really added to the tension in certain parts and I also enjoyed the little moments of connection we had with the side characters and the protagonist. Ultimately it goes into devotion, abuse, power imbalance, compliance, tradition, and revolution."
