"Another Perry movie about the same paper thin characters he always uses. This time he really phones it in amd shows no real effort. I'll give megan Goode some credit. This is the best I have seen her in anything. Everyone else was atrocious. The acting in this looked like rehearsal takes they kept in the movie. Not much of a story to speak of. I'm still not entirely sure who relates to the movies. I mean I get it when her first came out. Now it's just the same characters with a different poorly written plot. I know I'm not the target audience so I'm sure it will do well. Only hardcore Perry fans should watch. Everyone else...if you have seen one of his movies you have seen them all. "Expect better from Tyler Perry. Run of the mill crazy ex-husband story."

"There were a lot of questions that were unanswered, in regards to the plot. You look at Ava, and try to understand why she married Dallas. It was mostly mental and emotional abuse and stalker-ism. Don't get me wrong; Meagan as Ava did great, but Cory as Dallas, had me look at him side-eyed because he played the antagonist role so well. 😳 Definitely not the best of Perry's work. I don't think it deserves 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, tho, however, much more devoted time on character development and definitely the plot. I can write a better plot than this. "
"CW for Review: SPOILER AHEAD
CW for Movie: Domestic violence
Decidedly not a Tyler Perry fan, so I went into this with some hesitation, but this horribly overacted and woefully underproduced movie was a pure waste of time. The plot was as farfetched as they come, with an opening scene that included a character’s body (supposedly human remains) being removed from a casket.
Such a bad movie. Don’t waste your time."
"I was very excited to watch this movie because I love Tyler Perry movies but I was disappointed with this one. The acting was not very good & the story line was a little dramatic. The ending could have been a lot better to tie everything together. It was giving low budget which was very disappointing."
