"This is more than your average slasher film. It is the exemplification of relentlessness. An original concept, as we literally follow a silent, undead killer as he trudges through the woods from one victim to the next. It's a simple story, Johnny's mother's locket was taken from his burial site which awakens the cadaverous brute and he will stop at nothing to get it back, as it was the only thing to keep him at rest. The viewer becomes the killers' escort, watching him walk intently to his prey. At first it was eerily intense but then the walking became tedious. But I must say each kill is worth the wait, especially "yoga girl"!!! That kill alone is worth the price of admission, as the saying goes. Amazing use of practical effects in all the kills. The movie is light on dialogue, and that's a good thing because the acting is horrendous. The ending was a letdown, very anticlimactic. Even though it felt longer, it has a quick runtime of just about an hour and a half. So it's still worth watching if you're a fan of gore and inventive slaughter. 6.5/10"
"3.5/5⭐️ On day 10 of #Spooktober I watched “In A Violent Nature” a horror film I was kinda hype to see this summer but decided to just wait until it came to streaming. I can see I enjoyed more than the average Letterboxd user. One reason is because I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. It was something different and I wasn’t bothered by the long walking scenes like most. It’s showing us how relentless these killers in slashers films really are was which I appreciated. I think if you watch the film from that perspective you will enjoy it more. All I could think about is other slasher films and how much they probably walk off screen to get to there destination lol. Like Friday the 13th that’s all Jason ever did was walk but we never saw how he got there. So yes I appreciated the film for what it set out to do.
It is so ruthlessly, mercilessly, casually, relentlessly, violent that it will deter lots of viewers. As a horror fan I just find the film to be refreshing. And no this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the perspective from the killer but it hasn’t been done in this fashion. One film that comes very close is Henry: Portrait of a serial killer which I loved.I literally just watched Terrifier 2 and still can say this has one of the sickest original kills I’ve ever seen to this date R.I.P. Yoga girl. It’s a beautifully shot film with a controversial pacing which a niche group of horror fans that will like it with me being one of them."

"I agree that this was painfully slow. However, you view this slasher from the killers perspective and I enjoyed the switch up from the normal horror formula that everyone seemingly follows these days. I’m also very much for all of the gore in this. One of the craziest kills I’ve seen in horror EVER. Definitely an anti-yoga movie. Definitely a must watch. "
"I really enjoyed this film. It gave me Friday the 13th/ Halloween vibes. One of the most terrifying things was how much people did not pay attention to their surroundings and also how terrifying nature can be. The sequences were incredible. I love that it followed the killer's point of view. "
"I loved the art of this movie! I enjoyed the idea of watching the killer rather than gaining an emotional connection for the victims. It honestly made it more scary knowing that the killer didn't care about who or why he was killing. The "flexible" scene was INSANE. It was hard to look at the screen. I would love to see a second movie just to see the kills they would add. My only complaint is that it was a little slow at times, but besides that it was great. Definitely don't watch this if you're looking for your typical jumpscare horror. "
"We primarily see this from the killers point of view, which sounds interesting on paper but not so much in execution. This killer reminds me alot of Jason Vorhees. He is basically a golem with a one track mind, get his necklace back and kill anyone along the way. There is a low body but a couple of unique kills. The major issue with a Jason like killer is there is no personality...no diaologe of any kind. So we just watch him walk. In fact I would say a good 20 min of the run time is just him walking around. I don't think I have to tell you that gets old very quickly. Not a whole lot happens. The ending was also a big swing and miss as it closes with a 10 minute story that has no bearing on the events. This would have worked better as a horror short...like 30-45 min. Thi was very disappointing. Watch any of the Friday the 13th movies instead.
