Camille is a courtesan in Paris. She falls deeply in love with a young man of promise, Armand Duval. "Actress Alla Nazimova is a little grandiose for my taste, but regardless of what I think, it’s a simple fact that she’s got natural movie star qualities. I like her being paired with my beloved Rudy in this. Lovely and romantic. Dramatic. Sets and costumes are awesome (designed by Natacha Rambova—Rudy’s eventual wife)."
