"I can't believe it took me so long to learn this movie by Terry Gilliam exists. What an outrageously fun and unique movie and crazy cast! I had a great time watching it, too bad it was cursed with such a troubled production and tanked at the box office. It's funny that so many people don't seem to realize that Gilliam did not invent the Baron and his tall tales. In fact this story is based on a German novel from the late 18th century which in turn was inspired by the real-life Baron of Münchhausen and the tall tales he spun after the war with the Turks. I never read the book but was deeply amused to find that so many years later this story still echoes in modern pop culture, because Gilliam's movie appears to have inspired some of the outrageous stories and characters of the wildly popular One Piece Manga/Anime. The baron sure put the 'story' in 'history' and it is still continuing to this day."
"Also watch the making of. It’s beautiful but whoa brutal."

"The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (and indeed almost every Terry Gilliam movie) takes me away from my crappy life. I'm so transfixed by his films that when they end I can feel detached from the world for several minutes or even hours. This one is his most fantastic. Watch for Sting's cameo (what do you mean who's Sting...the god-damb singer! STING!)."
" it’s an amazing surrealist fantasy directed by one of my favorite directors of all time - Terry Gilliam"
