"Boris Karloff could do it all: scare as Frankenstein, and be imposing as The Mummy Imhotep. The former priest tries to reclaim the power that he felt was his, and the woman who was his match. Imhotep tries to hypnotize a socialite with memories of ancient Egypt into being his former love. I enjoyed the story seeing the story unfold, starting at an old museum, and invading the lives of social climbers. Unfortunately, there are two brief scenes with an actor in black face and body paint. This was a case of ignorant times. I loved the movie, which kicked off unending sequels and remakes by Hollywood. My favorite is that of Brendan Fraser's The Mummy."
