"Where the Wild Things Are (2009), directed by Spike Jonze, is an adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book. After an emotional outburst, he runs away and sails to a mysterious island inhabited by large, wild creatures who crown him their king. Max initially revels in the freedom and companionship of the Wild Things, especially bonding with a creature named Carol, who shares his impulsive, emotional nature. However, Max soon realizes that being king isn't as easy as he thought, and the Wild Things’ complex emotions mirror the ones he's struggling with himself. Through his journey, Max gains insight into love, loneliness, and the importance of family, ultimately deciding to return home with a better understanding of his own life and relationships. The film explores themes of childhood, imagination, and emotional growth in a visually captivating and poignant way."

"I had so many emotions that this movie gave me: happy, mad, upset, sad ofc. Its those feelings that stick with you especially attached to this movie. I wish they played Such Great Heights by Iron and Wine as an ending soundtrack. Would've made this so much better. Might revisit it some day when im in a good mood :)"
