"This feels like the outcome of a naive third grader watching Cannibal Holocaust, coming out of the experience scarred but completely ignorant of the film's intended message, remaining scarred for a period of two years, at which point the now-fifth-grader decided to write his own loose remake."

"What they're not saying is this is a horror comedy. Trying to call it a horror when the give the cannibals their friend stuffed with weed and everyone gets baked is misleading. A nobody lives kind of movie with some really weird LGBT insertion at random. I definitely recommend watching it once."

"i’m a fan of gory movies so obviously this was on my list. it’s not bad, if you’re only looking at it as a gore fest. for me, it’s hard to get past the fact that it’s overly exploitative of an indigenous culture by a white dude that knows nothing about it. definitely doesn’t bode well nowadays. if you can get past all that, it’s relatively enjoyable. not sure it’s worth all the hype tho "

"Wish I could have my time back 🤣 it was okay…I’d probably never watch it again, just wasn’t really good to me. It wasn’t that gory to me at all, definitely not the most gory movie I’ve seen lol."

"A love letter to the island cannibal genre of the 1970s in the 2010s that is somehow worse than a lot of the movies from the cannibal genre. I guess at least it was presumably made less abusively? So that's something it's got going for it but it really begs the question of whether a love letter to that was a thing worth doing in the first place."

"It’s a good movie I really like the way Eli Roth went with it. Of course it has its flaws acting isn’t always great there are scenes that raise eyebrows but it’s entertaining. Don’t eat before watching this if you have a weak stomach for gore."

"Terribly disturbing with visuals so visceral you would swear you were in this jungle with them. Beautiful cinematography creates a stark contrast to the horrors taking place. I never need to try and save indigenous peoples now. I know the risks. Not looking forward to being eaten alive! These images are forever burned in my retinas. Help I can’t sleep! You have been warned."
