Topic: The Little Mermaid
As usual, I’m late to the party, but finally watched it! The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite movies when I was little, & this was honestly such a treat. Good balance of nostalgia, fresh takes/details, & subtle changes I thought were good ones (the lyric change in Kiss the Girl from ‘there is one way to ask her’ to ‘use your words & ask her’ - *chef’s kiss*). And I thought the cast did a phenomenal job. I know these remakes are controversial, but I enjoyed this one. Thoughts?🩵

Topic: The Legend of Ochi
Releasing April 25, The Legend of Ochi appears to be a fantasy coming of age story in the vein of E.T. The baby Ochi is largely, if not entirely, a practical effect, with a team of puppeteers bringing the adorable creature to life.

I've turned off quite a few modern documentaries lately due to poor format. However I was pleasantly surprised by The Tom Green Documentary. A perfect balance of real footage laced with minimal interviews and some voice over.

I just want to say this was probably the best show I have seen in a very long time, it's a short 4 episodes around hr long each the acting in this was just absolutely superb. Stephen Graham is always great but the main kid this might be his first, definitely his first main role, he was phenomenal. Highly suggest this it's so raw emotionally it's filmed in real time to it feels really real, did everyone else feel the same lol

Reviews are in, and the new Snow White remake is... Apparently not great 😐 Has anyone seen the film yet? Do you feel that its negative reception is deserved? Or do you feel differently? BECAUSE of all the buzz around the movie's press tour and all, I'll remind everyone to be civil, please. Thanks!

All You Need is Kill, known best in the US as the inspiration for the Tom Cruise/Emily Blunt film Edge of Tomorrow, is receiving its own anime feature film adaptation. It looks like it will have a very colorful, trippy, mind-bending design style. https://youtu.be/HDkb6E7Fn2g?si=DWxZNpS08nXeivXk

This anime is very different from its light novel's story and that's a good thing!!! As the light novel progressed its tone became darker and bleaker to the point where I eventually decided I wasn't going to continue down that rabbit hole to see where it ended. I know people are almost always critical of anime changing the story from their source material so I'm impressed the creators of this anime were willing to risk that criticism and alter it to the degree they did. Huge improvement IMO.

Topic: My Fault
Ok I've been thinking about watching the movie My Fault but it kinda like rubs me weird that they're step siblings. Is it like weird in the movie? Like is it smth one can get over. Like is it clearly shown that they're step siblings bc the description makes it seem like their parents just got married and they just met. So it seems like they haven't rlly been siblings for long. Idk is it weird? Comments on both the Spanish on and the my fault London one ok.

Topic: The Changeling
Just finished this old-school, slow-burn film. George C. Scott never disappoints, giving a heartfelt performance. The story of a man who's lost it all moves into a house with a haunting secret that spiderwebs into the real world. If you are looking for a thriller that has stood the test of time, this should be your next watch. 5/5 stars!
