"This is an exceptionally well-written and brilliantly acted drama starring some great actors. Spencer Tracy, Dick York, Henry Morgan, Gene Kelly, Claude Adkins, and Norman Fell (Three's Company) in a small role as a Television Company operator. The storyline is about a small town who puts a schoolteacher on trial for teaching evolution in the classroom. The rhetoric that fills every scene is intelligent, sharp, quick-witted, and at times comical. How much would a man sacrifice for freedom of thought? 💭 Spencer Tracy was dynamic as the defense lawyer. Dick York was relatable as a mild schoolteacher who wanted his students to have freedom of choice. Frederic March was incredible as the town's deacon and the prosecuting attorney."
