"This is an expertly acted and written film in a Hitchcock format. Although it wasn't directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the build up of suspense and drama certainly felt like it. Joan Crawford and Jack Palance make a remarkable duo in this film about an aspiring actor who auditions for a play written by Joan Crawford's character, a successful playwright. The two marry quickly, and start forming a tight-knit social circle around them. The plot surrounds Jack Palance's character having a terrible motive for marrying his rich wife. I truly enjoyed watching these two incredible actors work together. The motive is fully revealed during the course of the movie. The acting and plot is so suspenseful in the last 10 minutes the film that I almost bit my nails 💅off waiting for the finale! It is just that good!
