"William Holden and Gloria Swanson are absolutely unforgettable in this film. It has the type of quotes and crazy last act that simply stays with you. This film is about a journalist trying to make a name for himself by interviewing a fading star ⭐ who still feels she can be current in a world that has long since past her by. This is one of the movies that is the very definition of film noir, and constantly referenced by cinephiles. Still acting from the entire cast, and the lighting of the film captures the mood perfectly."
"Fantastic film! Deserving of the classic label it has received. Exceptionally well written and acted, with a tragic commentary on the cost of obsession with fame and losing grip on reality. Gloria Swanson in particular gives an all-time great performance, and William Holden and Erich von Stroheim are great as well. Incredible balancing of tones too. "

"Must see! That is a masterpiece... May contain spoiler:
Their acting, the plot, and the ending... Oh, the ending was a masterpiece. Ah Max moonpie.. I need a Max in my life who will stay with me till the madness and save me even from myself... I am not a critic and that is my review. God I wish I could watch it for the first time again. "
