"Talk about a vanity project lol. John Turturro casts himself and his character actor looks as a middle-aged gigolo who is irresistibly attractive to the world's most gorgeous and inexplicably lonely middle-aged women.
In John's world, no woman who is less than a 10 is ever lonely. There's no frumpy middle-aged women in need of his middle-aged gigolo charms. He even wins over a widow who has not been touched since her husband died 2 years ago because she just cannot resist his invisible charms.
Where the movie misses the mark is that there was a tremendous premise to be had in this film. If they had taken the character of Liev Schreiber's Hasidic cop, and had him moonlighting as a gigolo, now you've got something, including a a gigolo that middle-aged woman would be truly attracted to.
But hey, how else would we get John Turturro to film the world's most non-titulating threesome with Sharon Stone and Sophia Vergara? Talk about movie magic..."
