Benji is a stray who has nonetheless worked his way into the hearts of a number of the townspeople, who give him food and attention whenever he stops by. His particular favorites are a pair of children who feed and play with him against the wishes of their parents. When the children are kidnapped, however, the parents and the police are at a loss to find them. Only Benji can track them down, but will he be in time? If he can save the day, he may just find the permanent home he's been longing for.

"This was the first movie I saw in theaters. My Mom took me to a holdover at our local theater. I was only about 2 so I don't remember this as much as watching it later in life. My 2nd movie was Star Wars and I remember all of it and became a lifelong fan. Benji was part of my life. I had a Benji blanket at one time. Just a bit of history... Or my story, if you will. "

"I have read numerous times that this movie was a guilty pleasure favorite of Alfred Hitchcock. I like the trained dog and the interesting period foods like pudding in little canned cups. I like the viewpoint shots from below. It's just a fun movie that I also enjoyed in my childhood."
