"This is a fairly slow sci-fi thriller with Burt Lancaster playing the role of Dr Moreau. I was not entirely impressed with Burt's performance, although he did seem to evoke and understated madness as is required of such a character. I did enjoy Michael York's betrayal of Braddock, who comes into the orbit of Doctor Moreau, and sees the result of his mad genius intimately."
