"Movies don’t spend too much time exploring aging in a substantive way. This movie takes a look at the end of life for a man who is real own for how he spent his “best years.” It explores a regret and hopes for the future. It’s a beautifully shot film filled with bees, flowers and well kept grounds in the country. There won’t be explosions, or running after culprits—“the games afoot!” But the movie is wonderfully paced and best viewed on slow days with no particular agenda. Enjoy."
"I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I came across this movie to watch while I had control of the tv. (I have a 7 year old). Ian McKellen was superb as an aging Sherlock Holmes. Faced with the looming shadow of dementia, Holmes cannot let loose of a case that has haunted him throughout his years, Holmes begins a daunting challenge of what he calls “setting the world right” on the real Sherlock Holmes, by writing the true story of this case. With three different story lines (all related) going on, we see the Sherlock we all know and love at different times throughout his life. The ending is heartwarming and leaves the viewer smiling and some how very peaceful. Ian McKellan once again delivers a stellar performance! A definite watch for Holmes fans!"
"Good pacing and storytelling. Not a lot of action, but keeps you intrigued."
