"This 70s disaster movie is a mix of Contagion and Unstoppable. In it an infected man sneaks aboard a train in Europe and the World Health Agency (backed by the US military) try to force everyone to stay on the train.
This has a huge cast, populated by aging stars like Burt Lancaster, Ava Gardner and Sophia Loren. However, that is part of its problem. Each of these stars have their own subplots that slow the first half of the film down to a crawl. (Martin Sheen playing Ava Gardener’s boy toy and O.J. Simpson having the worst cover identity ever are both unintentionally amusing though). The last 40 minutes picks up the pace and actually builds some tension but it’s not enough to give the film any more than a tepid recommendation.
3 out of 5 stars"
