With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove, and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother her with motherly love. But when the dozens of texts, unexpected visits, and conversations dominated by unsolicited advice force Lori to draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her eternal optimism and forceful generosity to change the lives of others - as well as her own - and find a new purpose in life.

"Love this movie! Susan Sarandon is wonderful, as always. She’s fantastic. It’s such a great story about loneliness and loss. Oh! I know, that didn’t sound right but I hope you know what I mean. It’s really good and touching and I hope you will watch it. I promise, you won’t regret it. And it’s about friendship too! And a really warm and awesome performance by JK Simmons too. He’s really hot in this movie! I really love his performance in this, it’s a really touching performance! Just a wonderful movie. "

"I hadn’t heard of this movie until one of my best friends said she’d been wanting to watch it. It’s a hidden gem, full of humor and a few great surprises. Partway through, I knew I would want to show this to my dad. It’s mainly dialogue-driven. Feels really cozy, I think it’s meant to be enjoyed with company. #comedy #drama 📱💵⚖️💍🥚"
