Alice, the only relatively normal member of the eccentric Sycamore family, falls in love with Tony Kirby, but his wealthy banker father and snobbish mother strongly disapprove of the match. "Classic family comedy with romance. Big corporate business stalled on a development by one property owned by the most free spirited eccentric family. The big boss's son is in love with the daughter of the eccentric family. I enjoy seeing Lionel Barrymore as a wonderful nice guy and father in the eccentric family compared to his character Mr. Potter in 'It's A Wonderful Life'. I enjoy seeing Ann Miller as a young actress before performing in Easter Parade. This is the movie that really made me notice Ann Miller and she is one of my favorite classic actresses. I really enjoy this one. "
