"Ah yes, William Gillette’s love-struck Sherlock Holmes. Disappointing really, because the rest of the movie was so good. I will admit, if I could accept the idea of Sherlock Holmes falling in love (which I simply cannot accept, Doyle’s Holmes never would), William Gillette’s acting made it seem natural. Alas, it just didn’t feel like I was watching Sherlock Holmes and instead, a fan fiction version. "
