"This is a surprisingly good and suspenseful 🦈 shark attack movie. Matthew Modine stars on this movie about two sisters who go on a thrill seeker's vacation, underwater in a shark cage. The winch that connects malfunctions, and the two are stuck for over an hour of the movie. I was quite impressed at the ocean photography and the sharks look surprisingly real. Perhaps there were some use of documentary video of real sharks added in with the movie. The acting, or reacting, is mostly panicked and frightened, people well portrayed by the two actresses. Matthew Modine didn't have much to do, so this was a cushy job for him. Overall, the movie was actually realistic and not your typical shark attack movie."
"This film takes the fear of the deep sea and amplifies it to terrifying heights, delivering a gripping and suspenseful experience.
The premise of two sisters trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean is a nightmare scenario come to life, and the film milks every ounce of tension from it. The underwater cinematography is breathtaking, immersing you in the dark and claustrophobic depths of the ocean.
Mandy Moore and Claire Holt deliver strong performances, effectively conveying the desperation and terror of their characters. The pacing of the film keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the shark encounters are genuinely thrilling.
It excels in creating an atmosphere of dread and hopelessness, making it one of the most intense shark movies in recent memory. It's a white-knuckle ride that will leave you breathless and is a must-watch for fans of suspenseful thrillers. It's a film that expertly taps into primal fears and keeps you hooked from start to finish."
"Kind of boring, with not enough change in scenery and plot, however I like that it was realistic in the sense that it took a lot of effort for the girls to escape. Ends very abruptly, leaving you with limited answers which I didn’t like. Wish they had added more to the plot after they were rescued, rather than cutting the story immediately after. Good realistic graphics and gore, and several jump-scare moments! Overall, a relatively good movie."
"Good thriller. Solid 60%. Mandy Moore's annoying screaming neurotic nightmare of a character had me nervous as hell though, and not the good kind of nervous you get when you're watching a good thrill, the kind where I got nauseous whenever she started panicking and screaming again. She has the worst vocal range to be playing a neurotic freak show let me tell you. The character would be pretty intolerable as it is but they really went wrong casting Mandy Moore for the simple and probably very rude reason that when she raises the pitch of her voice it makes me want to die. So yeah, she had me annoyed the entire time. It was a struggle to enjoy the movie when she was screeching and breathing like she just ran 10 miles at all times. Yeeck."
