Rumored to have been lost, Antrum appears as a cursed film from the 1970s. Viewers are warned to proceed with caution. It’s said to be a story about a young boy and girl who enter the forest in an attempt to save the soul of their recently deceased pet. They journey to “The Antrum,” the very spot the devil landed after being cast out of heaven. There, the children begin to dig a hole to hell.

"The idea wasn't unique but the presentation was. It started out as a documentary about this movie with a deadly history. After only 2 showings ended in tragedy it was lost for years and dubbed the world's most deadly movie. Then they find a copy. After the documentary part we actually get to see this movie. The plot sounds interesting...a brother and sister try to dig to he'll to save a soul but the sister is using made up chants that seem to have real world effects. This was the week part. This movie isn't very interesting and nothing really happens. They thought just flashing some stuff on the screen would make it scary but it doesn't. Then it ends with another very well done documentary segment about what we just saw. This was 2 really good segments that sandwich a very mediocre horror movie. It was just ok. Nothing I can strongly recommend. The concept was better than the execution. Please check out my podcast Mostly Low Budget Movies Reviews with Clarence for a full break down. "In a strange way, i loved this film. Don't watch it expecting to be scared, watch expecting to be cursed, and ideally with someone kind of newage/ spiritual who knows nothing about it.
The whole point of the movie is basically summed up in the very last comment so don't skip the parts surrounding the 'original film'.
They did a great job recreating a film that would have been released in 1979 for that 'main' part. There was a stylization choice in one part that i think may give away that it's more recent, but it's not too sus'."
"The premise is intriguing: curse the viewer and make them part of the horror. The rest of this may spoil it for you, warning. The “found footage”/main story is borderline asinine, who willingly digs a whole to hell? It could have been a film about monkeys eating bananas and the premise of the viewer being cursed to death doesn’t change. So make the story connect more since this doesn’t. The spliced images, while shocking, have no correlation to the story. The saving graces in the film are the acting by the children, the feel for the late 70s and the appropriately creepy score/music. "
"Surprisingly... Adorable? Idk, like obviously it is a horror movie but it's not really that scary. If you really believe in cursed media and curses then this would definitely scare you, but I don't really buy into that so it's a pretty normal movie for me. The main characters are two siblings who have an adorable relationship together! It kind of has The Labyrinth vibes, or like 80s dark fantasy, or whatever. There's some really great and creative stop motion scattered about the movie (including an adorable stop motion squirrel demon). Really creative and cool movie, possibly one of my new favorites! "
"Antrum is a horror movie that is part mockumentary and part film. BTW, this is not a spoiler. It was even in the marketing. While I did not find the mockumentary all that entertaining or even useful to the overall story, it was over so quickly and got to the film that I was still able to immerse myself in normal horror movie fashion. The directors and editors did a wonderful job of mixing Exorcist esk supernatural elements with real-life tension of Deliverance or The Wicker Man. I highly recommend this movie for a gets under your skin story. "
"This was an amazing horror movie. The ending was not at all how I expected and the entire movie I was left on my toes with a the twists and turns of the plot. This documentary style horror truly makes you feel like it is all real. Amazing horror, probably the scariest movie I've ever seen. "
"I just finished watching it and I really enjoyed it"

"The intro is long and scary, (which is fun to watch with friends) but it’s not the scariest movie. I may’ve started with my standards too high, because I heard it was a very scary movie, but honestly a lot of the things in the movie aren’t scary. I would recommend this movie to scary friends. It is somewhat thrilling and it has some good twists in it. Pretty good movie "
