"A woman with schizophrenia leaves the asylum after many years and moves in with her old best friend, who is an aspiring drag queen in a movie from the late 70s. This movie is great simply by treating both of its leads like full human beings and focusing in on both of their goals and flaws and how they benefit each other. This sounds simple but so many other movies fumble this with both queer and mentally ill characters, so it's nice to see a movie do this well involving both and it also makes for a better movie imo.
And in case that didn't sell you, the movie also runs the gambit on the MOST classic of drag character performances from Mae West to Bette Midler all done very well. Which helps break up some of the more grounded stories and infuses the movie with some fun and camp frequently. I've been on a huge drag kick recently and it really scratched an itch for SUPER classic drag."
