"Rupert Everett directs and stars as Oscar Wilde as he is on a decline, recalling his trial and imprisonment and seeking a few more purple moments or sexual encounters. The story traces to his death, as his writing dissipates and he is left with one constant companion. Rather sad and set in spectacular landscapes."
"Not a feel-good film by any means imo, but worth a watch. I believe Oscar Wilde must’ve been a very interesting man. Many aspects of his life were tragic, really. Especially in the end. The last years of Oscar’s short life, as well the wide range of emotions felt by Oscar and all in his circle, are thoughtfully explored in The Happy Prince."
