May, 1980. Man-seob is a taxi driver in Seoul who lives from hand to mouth, raising his young daughter alone. One day, he hears that there is a foreigner who will pay big money for a drive down to Gwangju city. Not knowing that he’s a German journalist with a hidden agenda, Man-seob takes the job.

"Most of this movie, I loved. I really enjoyed the interplay between Man-seob and Peter. I also had never heard of the Gwangju uprising, so I was especially fascinated by the reporters in the area attempting to publish, and appropriately horrified by the protests. However, I do wish that we got to see more of the ‘good friend’ the real Peter talks about at the end, and less of the politically clueless cartoon Man-seob. The taxi chase at the end was also really dumb and obviously made up."
"A great and dramatic piece. Almost brought a tear to my eye."
