Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and half of Mexico was quarantined as an infected zone. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures," while a journalist agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the U.S. border.

"Wow the dialogue is terrible, and that's coming from a prequels fan. The pacing is way off, incredibly boring at points, HOWEVER, the CGI is immaculate and that scene at the gas station truly was beautiful. I did enjoy this film but I couldn't really recommend it to others unless you know what you're in for. "
"Pacing was a little weird for me at first. However, I can still appreciate the film for its other aspects; I just think it’s important to know what kind of movie to expect (it’s no War of the Worlds) . I thought that the “monster” effects were cool, scenic scenes are well done, and characters , for the most part anyways, are likeable. Very much more of an art film that, if you decide to look at it in the way I think was intended, does also offer some commentary on what actually makes something a “monster” . With that said, this comes in at about a 7/10 for me ."
