"Would say that the movie starts out slow at first, but picks up very quickly. It's not your typical superhero movie, but more like the following movies: Defendor, Kickass, and Darkman due to they are the typical average person who turns themselves into superheroes who don't have any superpowers. If you are into those types of movies or any type of superhero movies, you'll be interested in this movie as well as the others that I listed above. "

"I enjoyed Kick-Ass a lot but thought this one was way more interesting mostly due to Rain Wilson’s absolutely incredible acting. This was one of James Gunn’s first movies and the pitch black humor is evident from the get go which I loved. In it Gunn seems to assess the superhero topic correctly by suggesting that if these individuals truly existed they would be either mentally ill (much like Rain Wilson’s budget Batman here) or mentally disabled (much like Woody Harrelson’s movie Defendor) and it wouldn’t look like Christopher Nolan’s or Matt Reeve’s Batman. That’s a pretty fun premise in my opinion but the heart and soul of this movie is Rain Wilson and Gunn is smart enough to let him run with it here. The first half is much more light hearted than the second and the last act goes full on dark as lives are lost and the main character learns that the past is truly gone and can’t be lived in anymore. Highly recommended. Would have loved for this to get a sequel. "
"Better comedy than Kick-Ass. By the guy who directed Guardians of the Galaxy."
