"This is one of the strangest Mads Mikkelson movies that I have ever seen. Certainly, that is saying something. He loves movies in which he is suffering emotionally, physically, and mentally. This time, he is an assassin trying to outrun the guns of his betrayers as his retirement draws near. This is also the weirdest cast as well: Vanessa Hudgens, Richard Dreyfuss, Katherine Winnick. It works. Warning: ⚠️ Explicit sexual scenes, cursing, and gore."
"Rated R for Gore/Language/Nudity/Sex/Smoking/Violence
This one had been on my watchlist for a while and I finally decided to watch it. Now I only wish I would have watched it sooner. I loved it.
Mads Mikkelsen plays a hardened master assassin two weeks from retirement. The Company he works for kills all the assassins before retirement so they don't have to pay their large pensions as promised. Chock full of over the top, colorful characters, in contrast to Mads character who is the focused, strong, silent type. Many innovative kills against a backdrop of varying, cinematically beautiful locations. This film falls perfectly into my wheelhouse as it is the type of movie I dig... a stylized, blood soaked, revenge flick. The cast was great, Katherine Winnick, Vanessa Hudgens, Ruby O Fee, the absurd Matt Lucas, even Johnny Knoxville has a small role. Richard Dreyfuss seemed out of place in his bit part though. It may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it immensely and wouldn't mind seeing a sequel. 8.5/10"
"Truly terrible film. Similar to snow-piercer, so if you like that kind of completely ridiculous overacting and stupid simplistic storylines then you might like this as well. "
