"8/10 amazing film. Absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. Reveals a part of Franklin’s life that is rarely talked about. She is one of my favorite artists of all time and it was gut wrenching to watch the story of her life with all its suffering. While the pacing of the movie was very weird and quite inconsistent, and left many questions unanswered, it was a beautiful tribute to the Queen of Soul herself with a very talented cast."
"A beautiful snippet of an iconic life. She was such a legendary singer who will live on with the greatest music legacies. I wish it would have touched on more but she can’t be contained to a 2 hr movie. Jennifer Hudson knew what she had to do & delivered. I loved seeing Marlon Wayans in such a dramatic role"
"Incredible story and superb acting by Jennifer Hudson...award worthy!"

"This movie wasn’t very good. The writing is bad, the dialogue is cringey. The acting isn’t so good either. The movie is kinda of a jumbled mess. The transitions aren’t smooth and there’s no care to explore who Aretha really was."
