"I always hate saying “my favorite movie of the year”, because you end up saying it three or four more times and it feels cheapened. But I couldn’t love this more. All I knew going in was it was a scifi movie starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It’s her career defining role that she murders. The other two actors are fantastic as well. I laughed and cried, once both at the same time, on numerous occasions. It’s a sick kid movie but it’s wonderful, beautiful and constant symbolism tells you what’s it’s really about. Writer/director Daina O. Pusic did a similarly themed movie several years ago I’d love to see but can’t find. Oh, and it doesn’t hide that it was made with stoners in mind. "
"Now this is how you make fantasy movies. As much as this movie is sad, and the ending was gut wrenching but there were many moments I chuckled throughout the movie - the bird is really funny. It’s a great balance of various emotions. A girl who is ready to go and a Mom who isn’t ready to let go, who in many ways struggled to accept her daughter’s fate. Be prepared for that tissue box at the end. 5/5 this is how you make movies! "
