"This movie is okay, the first tape was really good and the rest are either okay or pretty forgettable. But I still think this a fun movie to watch and the idea is really good! I really like to see what different directors can make with an anthology concept even if they are a little flat."
"My first Spooktober watch this month which I’ve never seen before. I was actually surprised on how much I liked it. Going in with low expectations might have been the reason. Also I never knew it was an anthology movie which I also like. "

"An enjoyable premise for the most part. My only complaint is the general lack of likable characters in Tape 56 (the frame narrative). Amateur Night continues the theme of mostly unlikable characters with even the nice guy in the group being a bit spineless. It still had a good twist that led to a deserved feature-length film. Second Honeymoon doesn't go the way you initially expect it to and is less extreme than the Amateur Night. Tuesday the 17th is a creative take on the slasher genrez with the killer being obscured by a camera glitch (apparently part of the killer's powers), which I consider a good touch since it's difficult to compete with the iconic appearance of Jason Voorhees (clearly the inspiration for this short film). The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger starts off unassuming and then reveals a truly disturbing scenario that involves gaslighting and a whole lot more I'll leave for you to discover. 10/31/98 has the most likable main characters on V/H/S and is a strong way to end the anthology, with some of the only men in the whole anthology who weren't harmful to women in some way. I prefer the alternate ending, but it doesn't match the vibe of the rest of V/H/S, so I understand the one they chose."
