"4⭐️ This doc made me super nostalgic for the 90s. It was an amazing decade for women in rock and Alanis was at the top of the list. You Oughtta Know was transitional and revolutionary and revelatory and stopped us in our tracks. I was fortunate to see her a few times, but especially very early days after the song hit but while she was still on a small club tour. It was exactly like the club scenes in the film, intimate and packed, the same vantage point right up front and everything. Spiritual Alanis is fine and I’m glad she’s got her zen but angry Alanis, hair in her face, Joe Cockering all over the stage in her slouchy jeans and oversized tees playing harmonica was just the best. Ok I just realized this is more of a love letter to Alanis than a review of the film. Oh well. Watch it! 😬"
