"This was way too hyped, and by people who don’t know what “shocking” means. Unfortunately it was very well cast and well acted, which is why I gave it a 3 star rating. Otherwise I’d be trashing it. I see where the bones of the story could have been sculpted into something cool, but it’s 1:45 min of boring drama that, since it’s backed by ominous music, seemed to be going somewhere. It doesn’t. POSSIBLE SPOILERS HERE: the murder scenes…they weren’t even murder scenes. You see the main character act weird, and then it just cuts to a dead person. It’s like if Ryan Murphy had a head injury and then immediately left the hospital and failed at an attempt at a White Lotus style twisty drama in the vein of Tarantino and Shayamalan. Not compelling. Not a fan. Really don’t understand why everyone lost their minds about it. Good actors though. "
"Different and weird. To me it was very predictable since the beginning and the ending was just weird yet funny. The girl that supposedly committed suicide explained Oliver’s intentions. Now, I understand what Golden Globes award host - Jo Koy meant. Personally didn’t much care about the movie and one of those that eventually I will end up forgetting."
"Honestly, I don’t think this movie is as gross as everyone made it out to be. I think there’s symbolism in this, and I kind of want to rewatch it to figure out all the meanings, like Jacob Elordi having a large wing tattoo and then wearing wings to the party. I think what would stop me from watching it is the many times it felt boring."
"Who says it is comedy? Psycho... If you are okay with disturbing and disgusting things, go ahead and watch. I wasn't ready for it. Spoiler:
from the moment I saw him I knew that he was psycho. What is it with the bathtub and blood scene... Good for you, you got the saltburn all for yourself... "
"This film was incredibly disturbing and creepy. The acting was spectacular, I don't know how they managed to film certain scenes - I was cringing so very much and was uncomfortable - which in few words this film plays into the theme of "uncomfortable" and "beyond unexpected" for the overall vibe of the movie. With that said, the actors and actresseses captured this theme perfectly, and had me thinking how in the world they gathered the guts to pull off their rolls and film these beyond cringy and uncomfortably squeamish scenes. On a other note, the cinematography was outstanding, and the filming locations were stunning. However, in my opinion the film felt like it dragged out longer than what was needed to prove a point for a few scenes throughout the film. Overall, this film was definitely a movie I don't plan to ever watch again, but it for sure made my list of the weirdest films that I have ever seen. "
