"Very good film. However (rant follows)… Vinod rapes the woman he saves from her abusive husband. Understandably, she flees his house. He searches for her, finds her, and acts sorry. So she goes back to his house with him? And, grows to love him, cos he doesn’t rape her again?? This minimizes the trauma of rape and presents a misogynistic notion that men can win the trust and hearts of their victims if they make the effort to show they’re sorry. And, while cultural differences do exist, they definitely doesn’t make the above any less uncomfortable… or less crazy."
