"2/5*s
I didn't hate it. I just don't really know what's what. Spoilers in next paragraph.
I really don't want to ruin anything for you if you want to watch it so I'm going to try to be careful in how I say things. So, who is good and who is evil? Or is there evil? What's with all the eyes? Why kill people who did nothing wrong, especially the child? I came away with more questions than answers. I don't like that. Also, there's no real "bad guy" but yet the victim does bad things. Who was the "Father," and what did he represent? And why was he even there? What's with the scissors and cutting of hair? What's with the marble? Why was the Hand "lost" in the basement? What's with the basement, period? Nothing seemed to have happened down there in the past so...? When did the two people die, in the past or in the present? (The present being the time period most of the movie takes place in, not the final scene in '91.) Was there an investigation? I mean, what the f?
Even though I mostly enjoyed the movie, the ending lacked in so many ways, I can't give it more than 2*s.
1st Addendum
I didn't realize this was the prequel to another movie I have on my watch list called Veronica. I had meant to watch them in order, as this one was made second but takes place in time prior to Veronica, which I wasn't aware of when I saved both movies. I thought is was a sequel. After watching it and find out it was "From the World of 'Veronica'" I decided not to watch Veronica because I didn't care for Sister Death. I just saw that it's actually a prequel and so changed my mind. I'm going to give Veronica a try and see if any of my questions are explained. Look for my review of Veronica soon.
2nd Addendum
No questions were answered by watching Veronica. Just another movie that ends with no answers. 2/5*s for Veronica. "
"I liked this movie more than the first, Veronica. I’m so glad they did a spin off to show us what happened to Sister Death. I will say both of these movies can be watched as stand alones. Effects were great and the story unfolded in such an interesting way. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of paranormal horrors, and don’t mind subtitles or an English dub."
