"I’ve heard this one be referred to as Hallmark Halloween and that’s laughably not too far off. If you go in with low expectations I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The premise? The world’s most idiotic and naive nine year old plays a video game called Satan’s Little Helper and decides to dress up as the little helper for Halloween. He believes that Satan exists in the real world much as he does in the video game so when he sees a mysterious and simultaneously charismatic serial killer dressed in a Satan suit he offers to help him carry out his deeds. If you can work with that premise then you’re in for a fun time. I was surprised with some of the directions this film went in and there was one scene in particular that outright surprised me with its implied gore. The anarchistic character of “Satan” isn’t messing around and he has a plan beyond merely getting his kicks murdering at random. What this film lacks in production value and technical skill it makes up for in heart and a strong and original premise. With a little bit more money and a rewrite on the script to punch up some pacing and plot holes it could have been an outright Halloween classic! "
