"I loved this show even as a kid. Probably not the best show for a middle schooler to watch but I was hooked.
It was one of the early shows on Netflix when Netflix was an early and only streaming service, and I watched the heck out of it. Waited for new seasons and binged them all.
It's so creative and fun. Scary too, but some of the best things are, at least in a kids eyes, (jurassic park, the mummy, star wars, planet of the apes, tremors, Harry Potter, you name the iconic show with those scary twists, that's the feel you get)
Plus there's the added benefit of it being a BBC show which from what I've seen means a movie type energy with a tv show budget (not incredibly high) in a show format, even older ones like this. The quality and budget does go up through the seasons and the story is incredibly intriguing. You feel like you're watching a movie but you're not.
Basically, if you love any of the Jurassic Park/World movies you'll love this. Especially when you see Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom stole a scene from this shows pilot. Thats all i could think of when I watched that moment in the mvoie too. Anything sci-fi with an animal twist is gonna be up this alley. Anomalies bring animals from the past to our current future. Dinosaurs, Saber-tooths, even dodo birds, and whatever else you can think of appear. Each and everyone of them unique and distinct. They look real which isn't always a good thing (Boo!).
You'll learn a lot about the past, and not just the Jurassic Era either.
This is also the show that holds the one thing that gave me nightmares as a kid. The future bats. I can't recall what they actually end up naming them, but those things are terrifying. Yep that's a big nope from me.
The predicaments the people find themselves in and the solutions they came up with are phenomenal. It's not a show I can just casually rewatch but man is it a trip to binge. "
"I miss watching this on TV when it was coming out. Really was a great show! In the middle of a science fiction show called Another Life which is on Netflix. Really good so far if you like aliens and space travel. There was another show that came out the same time Primeval was out that was called Being Human. They made an American version of it too and honestly both shows were fun in my opinion!"
