"📺 Becoming Karl Lagerfeld (2024)
UPDATE (for anyone who cares, LOL 😆):
I had high expectations for this series about KL (Karl Lagerfeld), but unfortunately, it didn’t meet them. While Daniel Brühl and the rest of the cast delivered great performances, KL’s personality felt too cold and emotionally distant, which made it hard for me to enjoy the series.
The rivalry between KL and YSL (Yves Saint Laurent), along with the love triangle involving their shared lover, also fell flat for me. These relationships didn’t seem to develop meaningfully, and the series ends around the time KL is in his mid-to-late 30s, leaving out the later years of his life. This abrupt ending was another letdown. Maybe KL was just a boring dude, and just wasn’t as captivating a figure as I hoped. 🤷♀️ (But I seriously doubt that! 😜)
In contrast, I found the "Very Ralph" documentary about Ralph Lauren much more engaging, offering a beautifully crafted and naturally pleasing world to be in.
Bottom Line: I’d say skip this one. Karl Lagerfeld didn’t come across as an interesting person to me. I'd much rather immerse myself in Ralph Lauren’s world.

Only one episode has been released so far, but this #drama series on #Hulu about the legendary #fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld shows great promise.
Last night, I watched Episode 1. Despite a #dubbed version being available, I opted to watch it in its original language first, then again in English. Daniel Brühl's proficiency in #French left me astounded—his accent is impeccable!
Brühl really is remarkable—not just for his acting, but as a polyglot. It's no surprise he was chosen for this #biopic about a man destined for global renown, with stores in multiple countries—he speaks six languages fluently!
"Brought up in a fully multilingual home, he [Brühl] speaks fluent German, English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Catalan." ~ Read his full #bio on IMDB."
"If you can get past the English dubbing since it’s in French, it’s quite interesting. Of course the clothes are amazing"
