"Boring and pretentious. This show thinks it has much more insight into the human condition than it actually does. During one episode the writers just give up entirely and write an AU instead of the actual show. I appreciated the plus size rep (even if it came with at least one fat joke about Luis :/). But the overall rep could’ve been better. I thought Donna was pretty much the prototype of the black best friend trope. Very disappointing overall; wish I hadn’t wasted my time on this. "
"A sweet look at the mundane parts of our lives we take for granted in their peace and reliability. I really identified with being so over everyone’s “living life to the fullest” squawking at every corner. Maybe people don’t have to travel and have orgies and do crazy **** to feel fulfilled in life. I really liked this show’s theme and art style and it felt meaningful and funny. I will say at some point you do want to smack Carol to just change her voice range a little bit because it gets a little grating. For people who want a season 2, I don’t think it could continue the charm and should be left alone as a unique piece that encapsulates the Covid times. "
"This is an amazing show. It has a lot of creativity and meaning. Every episode fells like its own. Reminds me of ad astra not in the space disaster but more in finding meaning and reassurance in humanity. Get a Netflix account and watch so it gets the views it needs, if you can. "
"This is an incredible show. Intricate , interesting, and has such beautiful nuance. Cannot recommend enough.
EDIT.
I’m surprised this is so unliked. I think it’s just a preference thing.
It is a slow burn and never really “gets interesting” but I think what makes me personally love this show so much is how it’s about someone who is not interested in anything other than routine. It’s an animated look into a very niche set of people if they were faced with the end of the word. Instead of traveling the world with the time they have or living out every fantasy, they desire normalcy, their lives before the end of the world. It’s a beautiful piece of imagination and insight into other perspectives. If you’re into a heady tv show. This is for you "
