"It's a cute kids show that's still informative.
It follows Simba's (the main character in the movie the Lion King) son as he protects the pride lands from all the dangers they may face. The show is good enough to entertain all your kids. Plus it has a song for every episode to keep your kids entertained. The characters are extra creative in order to make sure you'll laugh at least once or cringe. Most likely both. As for the main characters they do their part well and keep you invested.
Now for the informative part. They teach you about a new animal each episode or about a new trick some animal can do that they didn't mention before. It's sneakily educational. Your kids will learn things without thinking they are. At the same time the kiddush jokes will distract them with laughs as they slowly learn about the animal kingdom and some other tidbits.
Then the villains also progress in unexpected ways too. It makes the story change just enough to keep you invested.
It also doesn't diminish the movies in its series and is truly an extension of the universe created. It happens during the time after the first movie but a time between the beginning of the sequel and the ending of said sequel. That can be confusing if you didn't watch the sequel but there is a few years gap in the sequel that occurs during the story and this show occurs during that time.
I will admit I've always been a sucker for movies that have tv shows about them. Especially if it covers the time between movies so this one has that advantage with me. I just find the space between that time getting filled fascinating.
Overall, a cute kid show that's worth putting on for your children. They get to learn about the animals in the savannah and some basic outdoor survival techniques as well as how Weather patterns can work. Those kind of informative shows are always great for kids. And the story only progresses especially with villains so they don't lose interest."
