Because I like SOME SciFi & LOVE John Cusack & Rainn Wilson, I tuned in to this when it first aired. I enjoyed the characters & the MYSTERY of it & where it was going, but when it suddenly became *VIOLENT*, I stopped watching it 😞 I guess I’m a wuss… I never went back to it/never finished it…. So, 🤷♀️ My review is incomplete … A friend of mine stuck with it, though, & really ended up liking it.

"So many people said the American remake was terrible compared to the original British one, so I decided to watch this one first so as not to be disappointed. I really doubt I would have been disappointed if I had watched it second because it was really good. I'm watching the British one next, so I guess I'll see what is so much better about it. A couple of people actually said the American one was better, but I think it has to do with which they watched first. That one became their bias. I'm not like that. I will see them as separate and not need to compare, I believe. We shall see!
Plot: A group of adult nerds in their mid to late 20s (and a young boy) want to get their hands on an underground cult comic book, of which there is but one. They have to place a bid just like everyone else. Enter bad men who also want it. Death ensues.
Why do the "good guys" want it? It's the sequel and conclusion to Dystopia, which is said to contain predictions about future diseases that would strike the world, of which all came true. But the only way to know this information is by deciphering the clues in the pictures. They believe Utopia will do the same, giving them the opportunity to save the world by deciphering this new set of pictures.
Why do the "bad guys" want it? You'll have to watch to find out!
Some gory bits, but I personally didn't find any of it that bad. I have heard that the eyeball scene was off-putting to many, but I've seen way worse. And for those too worried about that particular scene, it's ok. The worst of it is off camera. But there is a bit of gruesomeness once it's done so you might want to peek through your fingers, just in case.
