One of the Best Books of 2022NPR - Them - Lit Hub - CrimeReads - Book Riot - Chicago Review of Books"A one-of-a-kind queer horror comedy for people who watch The Bachelor and The X-Files back-to-back." --Kirkus ReviewsOn this season of The Catch, contestants must compete for love. And their lives. When the final four women in competition for an aloof, somewhat sleazy bachelor's heart arrive on a mysterious island in the Pacific Northwest, they prepare themselves for another week of extreme sleep deprivation, invasive interviews, and, of course, the salacious drama eager viewers nationwide tune in to devour. Each woman came on The Catch for her own reasons--brand sponsorships, followers, and, yes, even love--and they've all got their eyes steadfastly trained on their respective prizes. Enter Patricia, a temperamental and woefully misunderstood local living alone in the dark, verdant woods, and desperate for connection. Through twists as unexpected as they are wildly entertaining, the self-absorbed cast and jaded crew each make her acquaintance atop the island's tallest and most desolate peak, finding themselves at the center of an action-packed thriller that is far from scripted--and only a few will make the final cut. A whirlwind romp careening toward a last-girl-standing conclusion, and a scathing indictment of contemporary American media culture, Patricia Wants to Cuddle is also a love story: between star-crossed lesbians who rise above their intolerant town, a deeply ambivalent woman and her budding self-actualization, and a group of misfit islanders forging community against all odds.

"Campy and fun, Patricia Wants to Cuddle is a satirical examination of how the media distorts our ideas on beauty, romance, and reputation. Reality tv and social media and their effect on people’s idea on what is normal, desirable, and even expected of people, especially women, us is a nightmare. Media screams that what we do has to be “liked” and validated by thousands behind a screen, otherwise, what is our worth? Add in a lonely Bigfoot looking for love, and the result is a thrilling struggle that is rooted in a very real issue that becomes more prevalent with our use of technology. Unique and great for reading while camping. "
"The best thing about this book was how it’s uncannily weird. The bad thing is, it was just over the top too bizarre. Every aspect in the book was beyond typical which left me with an aching head.
If you enjoy Sasquatch and The Bachelor, this is a quick enough read that you should enjoy.
2.5 ⭐️"
"I don’t know if this book could be any weirder. I say that with the MOST love. If you like wlw, Bigfoot, reality tv and blood and gore you’ll adore this, just like I did. "

"I loved this book in all of its freak and monster themes. I am always looking for incredible books and this one was on point. I loved it so much! Renee was the only one I was rooting for so I loved it! It shows how vapid and self important people in reality television can be. I loved every nail biting second of it."
"I honestly really liked this book and it had some twists I really wasn't expecting which was a nice surprise! It's an easy read and honestly just a fun one. Despite the many multiple point of views, including like 5 people and cutting to emails and letters, the book still managed to keep me enthralled in the story and I was able to keep everything straight."
